Eziekiel finished his prayer and opened his eyes. The birds were chirping again in the small wooded clearing now that they’d become accustomed to his presence. Removing his ribbons, he stowed them in his pouch and put his traveling clothes back on. It was helpful to be nude when performing his morning ritual. Shedding the confines of civilized clothing and prostrating oneself before the gods showed a commitment to faith. He also liked to relax in his own fur once in a while. But now his stomach was grumbling and he knew he must return to the Riverside Hearth, civilization, and his new traveling companions. Once he was dressed, he returned along the narrow forester’s path he’d found off the main road. Stepping out of the forest and back into the morning sun, he saw a group of people gathered at the corner of a wheat field across the road.
